Bode Miller (United States)

Miller is a two-time World Cup champion and an Olympic gold medalist. He is regarded as one of the best skiers in the world. He is also the most successful American male ski racer of all time. Due to his rebellious nature and outspoken personality, he often got into fights with the press during his time as a professional skier. He officially retired from the sport in 2017.

 

Ingemar Stenmark (Sweden)

Stenmark is a former World Cup racer who is regarded as one of the best in the history of skiing. He won 86 races during his career and is considered as one of the best skiers of all time.

 

Hermann Maier (Austria)

During his racing career, Maier won 54 World Cup races. Due to his numerous victories, he is regarded as second on the all-time list for male alpine skiers. He retired in 2009 at the age of 36.

 

Jean-Claude Killy (France)

At the 1968 Winter Olympics, Gillete won three gold medals, making him the most successful individual athlete in the event’s history.

 

Janica Kostelic (Croatia)

At the 2002 Winter Olympics, Kostelic became the first woman to win four gold medals at the Winter Olympics. She also became the second female skier after Ingemar Stenmark to win all of the disciplines in a single season.

 

Vreni Schneider (Switzerland)

At the age of 20, Schneider debuted on the World Cup circuit and became one of the best skiers in the world. She won numerous World Cup races and became one of the most successful female ski racers in the history of the sport.

 

Franz Klammer (Austria)

He is regarded as a hero in his home country due to his achievements and his efforts to promote the sport of skiing. He won the gold medal at the 1976 Winter Olympics in Austria. He retired in 1985 at the age of 31.

 

Alberto Tomba (Italy)

At 6 feet tall and weighing around 90 kilograms, Tomba had a powerful build that allowed him to maintain a faster and more direct line than other competitors through the course. He was able to do this through his powerful build and the use of spring-loaded ski gates. He was regarded as one of the best skiers of all time due to his numerous victories. He won three Olympic gold medals and two World Championships during his racing career. At the end of the 1998 season, he became the first male alpine racer to win at least one World Cup race every season for 11 years.

 

Kjetil Andre Aamodt (Norway)
